Universeum

Sweden’s national science centre, Universeum in Göteborg, is open to the general public. The spectacular and environmentally advanced building features large glulam beams from Moelven in the facade and in itsload-bearing constructions. Universeum was designed by the architectural firm Wingårdh Arkitektkontor AB.

Oslo International Airport Gardermoen

The terminal facility at Norway’s main airport, Oslo International Airport Gardermoen, is stamped by some of the best of Norwegian building traditions and culture. Moelven supplied the load-bearing glulam structures for the original terminal’s elliptical-shaped roof, as well as new deliveries in connection with the expansion of the terminal in 2008. The architectural firm responsible for the design is Aviaplan AS, Norway.

Stegastein viewpoint

Stegastein is an internationally acclaimed viewpoint at Aurland fjord in Norway. It is built using glulam, soli wood elements and steel. The viewing ramp is four metres wide and 30 meters long. Stegastein opened in 2006 and is part of the Norwegian government’s National Tourist Road program. The architects responsible for the design are Todd Saunders/Tommie Wilhelmsen, Norway.

Egenes Park

Egenes Park in Stavanger, Norway, is northern Europe’s largest housing community built by solid wood. Moelven has supplied glulam for the day-care facility and 55 homes, which earned a Class A energy rating. Egenes Park was designed by the architectural firms ONIX B.V., Netherland and HLM Arkitektur AS, Norway.
